Mrs Millar's Blog December 2019

Posted on 13th Dec 2019

The end of term is upon us already.  So much has been achieved since September that makes me proud of the school, our staff and students.

This month, though short in terms of school days, has once again been busy. We have had another successful Christmas concert where the quality of our singers and musicians once again blew me away. Thanks to Mr Williams for all his time and effort, helping them prepare.

Year 11 survived their mock exams and have just had their results and parents’ evening. They have a lot of hard work ahead of them in the coming months but if they keep working hard, I am confident they will achieve well come the summer. These results will set them up for the future, whatever their plans may be.

We had a mock election on the same day as the general election, with the results causing some hot debate and discussion amongst both staff and students!

I am so grateful for the response we have had to our community foodbank appeal. We always try to look at our local community at this time of year and the volume of donations we have been able to make to the Waveney Foodbank has been staggering. Thank you so much to everyone for your generosity, it really will make a difference to so many people over the Christmas period.

Can I also remind everyone that we have added an additional non pupil day on Friday 24th January 2020. This allows the teachers to work with and share ideas with staff from the other schools within Sapientia Education Trust.

Whatever you are doing this holiday time, be it staying at home or travelling to see family and friends, please stay safe and having a wonderful festive period. I look forward to seeing all the students back at school on Tuesday 7th January 2020, when the hard work will start again.

Merry Christmas
